$550

This Morning.

Went down to the West Bottoms this morning for a tire. Since moving to KC, I've been lookin' hard for a good shop, that'll work on my bike, not screw me over and possibly find some more chill people to ride with. I found it today, its a shop called Cafe Racer and the dudes there are awesome, excellent service all around. I walked in they were more than happy to just let me walk around the shop, bs with the guys while they worked on my shit, and other projects they had goin on, and just hang out for awhile. Alot of different bikes came in, everything, and they were more than happy to work on peoples stuff. Custom cruiser, cafe racer, ducati, norton, harley, vintage bikes, they did it all. So I milled around, talkin' to riders from all walks of life, everyone was real cool and I did find some dudes to ride with. I'm gonna put in a word for 'em here, if you're ever in the KC area and are looking for a good shop, this is the place to be. Charles (ducati, sportbike specialist guy) was changin' my tire and dan was runnin' the shop at the time, some good dudes. If you need anything, give them a call! So here's some pics I took....enjoy!

rad.

Went down to midtown again tonight, after beer-vending at the chiefs game kicked my ass. It was a fantastic decision, like always. Pretty rad people, all the time down there, specifically at fric 'n frac's bar. Its a really chill place, the exact opposite of those annoying bro fests. Everybody's a friend and the scene is great. Anyways. about rad.

I just can't get over how rad my new found friends lid is. Check it.

And this rad fixie sittin' there.

Shitty pics I know, but they'll work for now. You get the idea anyways. Get down to midtown. Fric 'n Frac's. Right now.

I'm still here.

I'll admit that writing this stuff in here just isn't the same without pictures. I'm cameraless at the moment, hopefully not for too long. I need to scrape together some dough to get me a new camera. And I've had a shit ton of good photo-ops lately, livin' and ridin' in Kansas City. Just when I don't have a camera.

Do you ride?

I heard a number today, about average mileage ridden my motorcyclists. I looked it up on Kelley Blue Book.

Sportbikes - 3,000 miles per year

Tourers or sport tourers - 5,000 to 6,000 miles per year

"What the fuck?"

I don't consider myself a hardcore rider at all, a weekend warrior if anything. The bike I have now, have had for the last 2 years, has I think roughly 27,000 miles on it. Thats 13,500 miles per year. And I consider myself the average rider.

My old man, he rides atleast twice as much as I do, I figure. He just bought a sportster 1200 custom earlier this year, and it's got probably about 10,000 miles on it so far this year.

And that's with the average 40-50 hours a week at the job.

We're average people. (well maybe not the old man, he lives and breathes motorcycles).

Different stokes for different folks right?

I guess so.

hot hot hot.

It was 106 degrees today. I was working on the truck. Which likes to beat the shit out of me. Smashed a finger, got a nice cut, got a bloody nose somehow and of course, with working on a cage, smacked my head. I have no idea how this happens but it usually works this way. Just to change shocks this time. Out front, in the sand and catshit. It was great. Feels good to do some work.

My old man had a great time at sturgis and made it back in one piece.

I'd say it was a pretty good weekend.

Btw. I'm sure he'll eventually update here... Blue Collar Rides.

6 weeks.

Fuck.

Pardon my language. I've been wanting to say that all day. I work in an office now, well for 6 more weeks anyways. Using nice language all the time takes more work than I thought it would.

Anyways.

Just letting you know. I'm not going to be religiously updating the blog as I have been lately. I'm guessing that I'll be lucky to be able to update once a week, for the next six weeks. As you may know, after my recent graduation, the job hunt has not been going so good. So, a good friend of mine found me a job at his company, while the person that normally works here, is on maternity leave.

6 weeks. Few updates. I shall return.

The pics a bit old, and yes. chaps. Those red chaps on the chick to the left are pretty freakin' sweet.

Arkansas.

Badasses.
